Brown Bears
Richard Gouse Field at Brown Stadium, opened in 1925, is the largest stadium in Rhode Island with a capacity of 20,000. This historic venue has served as the home of Brown Bears football for nearly a century and remains a centerpiece of Providence's sports landscape.
Built to replace smaller facilities and accommodate Brown's growing fanbase, the stadium was financed entirely by subscription and opened as the fourth home field for Brown football, designed with capacity for future expansion.
Midfield seats in the main grandstand offer the best views. The aluminum bleacher sections provide good sightlines throughout. West side seats face away from afternoon sun.
Campus parking lots fill quickly on game days. Arrive 2 hours early for best spots. Street parking on nearby residential streets is available but limited. Consider parking downtown and walking up College Hill.
Explore Brown's historic campus on College Hill before the game. Thayer Street, just minutes away, offers excellent dining and shopping. The stadium's hillside setting provides beautiful views of Providence.
