Chicago White Sox
Chicago, IL
Guaranteed Rate Field on Chicago's South Side opened in 1991 to keep the White Sox in the city and replace the aging original Comiskey Park. The ballpark has gone through multiple modernization phases while retaining a classic, baseball-first layout and a strong reputation for its concession lineup.
The White Sox needed a modern replacement for old Comiskey Park, and Illinois approved a new state-owned venue just south of the original site. The stadium opened in 1991 as Comiskey Park II and was designed with future upgrades in mind.
Lower-bowl sections between the bases deliver the best sightlines; the Scout Seats behind home plate are the premium option. Right-field seats put you near the fan deck and bullpen action.
On-site lots ring the stadium but fill quickly for weekend games. The CTA Red Line Sox-35th stop is the easiest car-free option and drops you at the gates.
Visit the outfield fan deck and take in the massive center-field video board. Statues of White Sox legends and skyline views from the upper deck are must-see stops.
