Pittsburgh Pirates
PNC Park is the open-air home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, situated along the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, PA. Opened on April 9, 2001, the 38,747-capacity ballpark was designed by Populous (formerly HOK Sport) in a retro-classic style using steel and Kasota limestone. It features a natural Kentucky bluegrass surface. PNC Financial Services holds naming rights through 2031. The park hosted the 2006 MLB All-Star Game, won by the American League 3โ2.
Constructed to replace the cavernous Three Rivers Stadium with a baseball-only venue that pays homage to classic "Jewel Box" ballparks.
The 300-level (Upper Deck) behind home plate offers arguably the best scenic view in all of professional sports. Try the "Lexington Club" for premium amenities.
Park downtown and walk across the Roberto Clemente Bridge (which is closed to cars on game days) for the most iconic entrance.
Try a Primanti Bros. sandwich (with fries and slaw inside). Watch the "Great Pierogi Race" in the middle of the 5th inning and visit the Roberto Clemente statue.
