Huntington Bank Stadium (formerly TCF Bank Stadium) holds 50,805 with expansion capability to 80,000. Opened in 2009, it was the first new Big Ten stadium since 1960 and first LEED-certified football stadium. It returned Gopher football to campus after 27 years at the Metrodome.
Built for $303.3M after the program played in the Metrodome from 1982-2008. Opened September 12, 2009 with a 20-13 win over Air Force—first on-campus game since 1981. Named TCF Bank Stadium until 2021 when Huntington acquired naming rights.
Sections 101-120 are closest to the field. The DQ Club and Securian Club offer premium amenities. The largest home locker room in college/pro football features 120 cherry-wood lockers. The 48x108 ft Daktronics scoreboard is the largest in college football-only stadiums.
University lots require permit or day-of purchase. Park-and-ride from State Fair lots with shuttle. Street parking in Dinkytown and Stadium Village neighborhoods. Metro light rail Green Line stops at Stadium Village station—easy access from downtown Minneapolis.
Coach Fleck's "Row the Boat" culture defines the experience. Watch for Paul Bunyan's Axe (Wisconsin) and Floyd of Rosedale (Iowa) trophy games. Ski-U-Mah is the official cheer. Minnesota has 7 national championships (most recent 1960). Stadium Village has great pre/post-game bars and restaurants.
