Montana State Bobcats
Bobcat Stadium, home to Montana State since 1973, sits at 4,900 feet elevation in Bozeman with the Bridger Mountains providing a stunning backdrop. The 17,777-seat venue hosts one of FCS football's fiercest rivalries in the annual "Brawl of the Wild" and has undergone major renovations to become one of the conference's premier facilities.
Constructed in 1973 to replace Gatton Field, the stadium was designed to accommodate Montana State's growing program and provide a modern facility in the Gallatin Valley. The location and design took advantage of Bozeman's mountain setting.
West sideline (Sections 11-17) offers mountain views and afternoon shade. East side can be hot/bright in afternoon sun. Student section (north end zone) is most energetic. Elevation can affect conditioning - visitors should hydrate.
Arrive 3+ hours early for tailgating. Main lots are off Stadium Dr and Kagy Blvd. Street parking on residential streets north of campus (observe restrictions). RV parking available with reservation. Bozeman's growth means traffic has increased - plan ahead for big games.
Bozeman offers mountain town charm with growing urban amenities. Pre-game tailgating is robust, especially for "Brawl of the Wild." Visit campus attractions like Museum of the Rockies. Post-game, explore downtown Bozeman's Main Street for dining and nightlife (15-minute drive). Fall weather can be cold - dress in layers.
