DATCU Stadium is a 30,850-seat venue in Denton, Texas, home to the North Texas Mean Green. Originally named Apogee Stadium when it opened in 2011, it was renamed DATCU Stadium in 2023. It holds the distinction of being the first college stadium to earn LEED Platinum certification, with three 120-foot wind turbines adjacent to the stadium generating renewable energy.
Opened September 10, 2011 at a cost of $78 million. Built to replace the aging Fouts Field and give North Texas a modern, on-campus football facility. Designed with sustainability as a core principle, earning LEED Platinum certification — a first for any college stadium in the country.
West side seats offer the best views with shade in afternoon games. The student section on the east side is where the energy peaks. Premium seating and suites are located on the west side.
The Hill is the most sought-after tailgating area but requires a donor pass or early purchase. Fouts Field lot offers general parking with a pedestrian bridge to the stadium. Mean Green Village lots provide central access.
Walk through The Hill east of the stadium for the best tailgate atmosphere. Denton Square is a short drive away for post-game dining and drinks. The wind turbines adjacent to the stadium are a unique photo opportunity.
