Washington Commanders
Northwest Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Landover, Maryland, home to the NFL's Washington Commanders since its opening on September 14, 1997. Designed by HOK Sport (now Populous), it seats 64,000 on a Bermuda grass field and features five levels and 257 executive suites. The stadium has operated under four prior names โ Jack Kent Cooke Stadium, Redskins Stadium, FedExField, and Commanders Field โ before adopting its current name on August 27, 2024, through a sponsorship with Northwest Federal Credit Union. It hosted six matches of the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Originally built as Jack Kent Cooke Stadium to replace the beloved RFK Stadium and provide the team with a higher capacity, modern venue.
The new "Tunnel Club" offers a unique view of the players entering the field. The 100-level sidelines remain the best for proximity to the "Hail to the Commanders" energy.
Traffic is notoriously difficult; consider the Morgan Boulevard Metro station (Silver/Blue lines) and a 1-mile walk. Pre-paid parking permits are essentially required for a stress-free entry.
Experience the reimagined "The Show" gameday presentation. Visit the Commanders Legends plaza and join in the "Hail to the Commanders" fight song.
