Chattanooga Mocs
Finley Stadium opened in 1997 as a modern 20,000-seat facility in downtown Chattanooga, replacing the aging Chamberlain Field. With luxury skyboxes, a state-of-the-art video board, and the adjacent First Horizon Pavilion for tailgating, it's one of the premier FCS venues in the South and has hosted multiple NCAA Division I-AA national championship games.
Planning began in 1995 with the formation of the Stadium Corporation, aimed at replacing Chamberlain Field and providing a modern facility capable of hosting NCAA Division I-AA playoff games, including the national championship. The Mocs needed a larger, more modern venue to support their growing football program and attract major postseason events.
The chairback preferred seats offer the best comfort, while the NoogaNation student section on the south side creates the most energetic atmosphere. Skyboxes provide climate control and premium viewing for groups.
The First Horizon Pavilion area is popular for tailgating. Arrive 3+ hours early for premium spots. Street parking downtown fills quickly on game days. Consider parking in nearby downtown garages and walking.
Visit the First Horizon Pavilion (converted from the old Ross-Meehan Foundry) for tailgating and Scrappy's Kids Zone. The Marching Mocs perform alongside the NoogaNation student section. Stay after games to explore downtown Chattanooga's restaurants and attractions.
