Great American Ball Park is an open-air stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, that has served as the home of the Cincinnati Reds since opening on March 31, 2003. Built at a cost of approximately $290 million and designed by HOK Sport and GBBN Architects, it seats 42,271 on a Kentucky bluegrass surface. Naming rights were sold to Great American Insurance for $75 million over 30 years. The park hosted the 2015 MLB All-Star Game and features steamboat-inspired Power Stacks in right-center field.
Built to replace Riverfront Stadium. The design aimed to merge modern amenities with unique features like the "Gap" to provide views of downtown and the river.
Seats in the "Moon Deck" in right field are great for home run balls. For heat relief, the 300-level on the first-base side gets shade earliest.
Park in Northern Kentucky (Newport) and walk across a bridge or take a shuttle to avoid Cincy traffic. The Central Riverfront Garage is huge but fills fast.
Visit the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum (the best in MLB). Eat Skyline Chili and watch the Cincinnati Bell Power Stacks fire flames after Every Reds strikeout or home run.
