Phil Simms Stadium, formerly known as Jayne Stadium, is a 10,000-seat venue nestled in the foothills of eastern Kentucky. Named after former Morehead State quarterback and NFL Super Bowl champion Phil Simms, this stadium combines small-town charm with proud football traditions in the heart of Appalachia.

Origins

Originally built in 1964 as Jayne Stadium, the venue was constructed to provide Morehead State University with a modern football facility. The stadium naming was announced June 23, 2025, honoring Phil Simms — Morehead State quarterback 1975-1978, OVC Player of the Year 1977, drafted 7th overall by the New York Giants in the 1979 NFL Draft, and Super Bowl XXI MVP (22-of-25, 88% completion rate).
