Cleveland Guardians
Progressive Field is the open-air home of the Cleveland Guardians, located in downtown Cleveland, OH. Opened in 1994 and seating 34,830 on Kentucky bluegrass, it was designed by HOK Sport (now Populous) in a retro-modern style featuring exposed steel. Originally named Jacobs Field, it was renamed Progressive Field in 2008. The park has hosted three World Series (1995, 1997, 2016), two MLB All-Star Games (1997, 2019), and a 19-foot left-field wall.
Jacobs Field was built to replace Cleveland Municipal Stadium and to create a modern ballpark at the heart of a new sports-entertainment district. The venue opened in 1994 as part of the Gateway Sports and Entertainment Complex.
The lower bowl between the bases offers the best overall views. The Right Field District is perfect for fans who want a social atmosphere without giving up sightlines.
Gateway garages and downtown lots are close but fill fast. The RTA rail to Tower City or the East 9th stop provides the easiest transit option.
Arrive early for Heritage Park, the club's Hall of Fame space. The Right Field District bars and standing areas are a signature Progressive Field experience.
