Cornell Big Red
Schoellkopf Field, opened in 1915, is Cornell's historic 21,500-capacity stadium located in the scenic gorges of Ithaca. Named in honor of former Cornell player and head coach Henry Schoellkopf, the stadium features the distinctive "Crescent" grandstand and offers one of college football's most picturesque settings.
Built to replace Percy Field after a $100,000 donation from Willard Straight in honor of his close friend Henry Schoellkopf, who died in 1912. The stadium provided Cornell with a modern facility on campus befitting the university's growing athletics program.
The historic Crescent on the east side is the most iconic seating area with excellent views. Midfield seats in any section offer good sightlines. The setting in Cayuga Lake's southern valley provides beautiful backdrop views.
Campus parking lots and garages fill early on game days. Arrive 2-3 hours before kickoff. Consider parking in Collegetown and walking. Fall weekends bring heavy traffic to Ithaca—plan accordingly.
Explore Cornell's stunning campus before the game—the gorges and suspension bridges are spectacular. Collegetown offers numerous dining options within walking distance. The stadium's natural setting is one of the most beautiful in college football.
