Nicholls Colonels
Manning Field at John L. Guidry Stadium has been home to the Nicholls Colonels (Southland Conference, FCS) in Thibodaux, Louisiana since opening in 1972. The 10,500-seat stadium was originally named Colonel Stadium, then renamed in 1973 for former state representative John L. Guidry, who was instrumental in establishing Francis T. Nicholls Junior College. The playing surface was later named Manning Field to recognize the Manning family, who host the annual Manning Passing Academy at the facility. The current surface is GeoGreen Replicated Grass artificial turf.
Built in 1972 to provide Nicholls State University with a modern football facility as the program competed in NCAA Division II and later FCS.
The main grandstand offers covered seating with good sightlines. The stadium's compact design creates an intimate, loud environment for big games.
Campus parking surrounds the stadium. Thibodaux is a small college town with minimal traffic concerns.
Experience authentic Cajun culture in Thibodaux, located between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The Colonels fanbase is passionate about their team and their region's unique heritage.
