Cajun Field, nicknamed "The Swamp" since 1988, sits two feet below sea level in Lafayette. The 30,000-seat stadium underwent a $65M renovation completed in 2025 and is the largest in the Sun Belt.

Origins

Opened September 25, 1971 with a shutout of Santa Clara. Built to replace McNaspy Stadium. Nicknamed "The Swamp" because the field sits below sea level near Cypress Lake.
