Joe Aillet Stadium has been home to Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football in Ruston, Louisiana since opening September 28, 1968. Originally called Louisiana Tech Stadium, it was renamed in 1972 to honor Joe Aillet β head football coach from 1940 to 1966 (151β86β8) and longtime athletic director, who died December 28, 1971. The stadium holds 28,562 and features FieldTurf (installed 2006). Its first game saw quarterback Terry Bradshaw lead the Bulldogs to a 35β7 win over East Carolina.
Built for $3.5M to replace old Tech Stadium. Named for Joe Aillet, who coached 1940-1966. Concrete bowl design typical of late 60s era.
West side stands provide the best view and shade. South End Zone facility offers premium box seating.
White Lot (corner of Tech Dr & W Alabama) offers some free public spots. Most closer lots require donor passes. Arrive 3+ hours early.
Ruston is a classic Southern college town. The "Bulldog Village" tailgating area is high energy. Look for the "Lady of the Mist" statue on campus. Loyal Blue and red colors everywhere.
