Boone Pickens Stadium has been home to Oklahoma State Cowboys football in Stillwater since opening on October 2, 1920, giving it the oldest field in the Big 12 Conference. Originally called Lewis Field, it was renamed in 2003 to honor OSU alumnus T. Boone Pickens following a $165 million donation — at the time the largest single athletics gift to a U.S. university. The stadium seats 52,168 and plays on FieldTurf Vertex CORE (installed 2022). Its field runs east–west, a notable orientation among major college stadiums.
