E. Claiborne Robins Stadium opened in 2010 as the University of Richmond's on-campus football facility, replacing the off-campus City Stadium. Built on the site of the former First Market Stadium, the modern 8,700-seat venue has been ranked as one of the top stadiums in all of FCS and the top track field stadium venue in Virginia.

Origins

Due to the age and off-campus location of City Stadium where Richmond played home games, demand grew for an on-campus facility. The university demolished the old 2,000-seat stadium to build a modern venue that would bring football home to campus and provide student-athletes with a premier facility.
