Arthur L. Williams Stadium, home of Liberty Flames football in Lynchburg, Virginia, opened October 21, 1989, with an initial capacity of 12,000. Named in 1994 for donor Arthur L. Williams Jr., who contributed $60 million to Liberty University over 15 years beginning in 1977, the stadium expanded in 2010 and 2018 — the latter adding an upper deck on the east side and bringing capacity to 25,000 for Liberty's first FBS season. The current surface is AstroTurf 3D3 RootZone Blend, installed in 2022.
Opened September 2, 1989 with 29-28 win over Kutztown. Built for $6M with 12,000 seats. Named for Art Williams, founder of A.L. Williams insurance company.
