Stony Brook Seawolves
Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium opened in 2002 as Stony Brook transitioned to Division I, with construction costing approximately $22 million. The 12,300-seat stadium saw a historic opening day as the Seawolves defeated St. John's 34-9 with a kickoff return touchdown, setting the tone for the program's Division I era.
The stadium was built to support Stony Brook's transition to Division I football, replacing the need for off-campus facilities and providing a proper on-campus home for the program's ambitious move up from Division III.
The stadium design provides good sightlines throughout. As a newer facility built in 2002, modern amenities enhance the gameday experience.
Located on Long Island with easy access from the Long Island Expressway. Campus parking available in lots near the stadium.
Stony Brook offers a modern Long Island college football atmosphere. The 2002 opening game kickoff return touchdown created instant history and the program has built on that momentum.
