New Haven Chargers
Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium, home to the University of New Haven Chargers, is located in West Haven, Connecticut. Named after the former UNH president, this 5,500-seat facility has been the home of Chargers football since 1994 and offers excellent sightlines and modern amenities in Connecticut's coastal setting.
The stadium was built in 1994 when the university established its football program, providing a purpose-built facility for the new team. Named in honor of Dr. Ralph F. DellaCamera, who served as university president from 1973-2004, the stadium reflects the school's commitment to comprehensive athletics.
The main grandstand on the home side offers covered seating and excellent views. Seats between the 30-yard lines provide optimal sightlines. The visiting side bleachers are uncovered but closer to the field. The press box side offers shade for afternoon games.
Campus parking lots surround the stadium with good capacity. Arrive 60-90 minutes early for convenient parking. Lots fill for homecoming and rivalry games. Parking is generally free. Easy access from I-95 Exit 42.
The West Haven/New Haven area offers a blend of college town and coastal Connecticut charm. Pre-game activities center around campus. The proximity to downtown New Haven (5 miles) provides excellent dining options. Post-game, explore the shoreline or head to New Haven's renowned restaurant scene.
