UConn
Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field is the home of UConn Huskies football in East Hartford, Connecticut. Opened in 2003 and designed by Ellerbe Becket, the open-air stadium seats 36,000 on a Kentucky Bluegrass surface. The site previously served as Rentschler Field airport, named after Pratt & Whitney founder Frederick Rentschler. The stadium was renamed in July 2015 when Pratt & Whitney secured naming rights through 2030. It has also hosted MLS matches, NCAA lacrosse championships, and major concerts.
Built for $91.2M on land donated by Pratt & Whitney (a former airfield). Necessary for UConn's move to FBS (then Division I-A).
West side stands (main side) offer the best field view. Upper levels provide a clear perspective of the surrounding area.
Lots open 4-5 hours before kickoff. $20 for general public cars. Silver Lane is the main access route; follow staff to Main or East Gates.
The stadium sits on a historic Pratt & Whitney airfield. Tailgating is huge here since it's an off-campus stadium. Look for the "Cabela's" nearbyβa local meeting spot. UConn Husky pride is strong!
