Tennessee State Tigers
Currently under construction on Nashville's East Bank of the Cumberland River, the new Nissan Stadium is a 60,000-seat enclosed venue planned to open in 2027 as the permanent home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans. Fan Stamp retains this Tennessee State venue page because the Tigers play select games at the current Nissan Stadium, but no exact Tennessee State opening game at the new venue is confirmed here. The page will be reviewed as the 2027 schedule and venue plans become official.
The new stadium was initiated to replace the aging 1999-era Nissan Stadium, which the Titans and city officials deemed too costly to renovate to modern NFL standards. Metro Nashville's council approved the financing package on April 25, 2023, in a deal totaling $2.1 billion: $840 million from the Titans, $500 million from the State of Tennessee, and $760 million through revenue bonds issued by the Metro Sports Authority — the largest public stadium subsidy in U.S. history at the time of approval.
