Currently under construction on Nashville's East Bank of the Cumberland River, the new Nissan Stadium is a 60,000-seat enclosed venue slated to open in the summer of 2027 as the permanent home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans. Tennessee State University — home of the acclaimed Aristocrat of Bands — is expected to continue playing select home games at the new stadium, as the Tigers have done at the current Nissan Stadium. The $2.1 billion project features a translucent ETFE dome roof, replacing the aging 1999 structure next door.
The new stadium was initiated to replace the aging 1999-era Nissan Stadium, which the Titans and city officials deemed too costly to renovate to modern NFL standards. Metro Nashville's council approved the financing package on April 25, 2023, in a deal totaling $2.1 billion: $840 million from the Titans, $500 million from the State of Tennessee, and $760 million through revenue bonds issued by the Metro Sports Authority — the largest public stadium subsidy in U.S. history at the time of approval.
