📖About Blaik Field at Michie Stadium

Michie Stadium at West Point overlooks the Hudson River and was rated Sports Illustrated's #3 sports venue of the 20th century. Named for Dennis Michie, who started Army football in 1890, the stadium has hosted Black Knights football since 1924.

Origins

Completed in 1924 with 16,000 seats adjacent to Lusk Reservoir and historic Fort Putnam. Named for Dennis Michie (Class of 1892), who organized Army's first football team and was killed in the Spanish-American War.
