📖About Walkup Skydome

Walkup Skydome is one of three domed FCS stadiums, featuring an inflatable fabric roof at 7,000 feet elevation in Flagstaff, Arizona. With a capacity of 10,000, the multipurpose facility has served Northern Arizona since 1977, providing climate-controlled comfort in Flagstaff's variable mountain weather.

Origins

Built in 1977 to provide year-round indoor athletics facility in Flagstaff's high-elevation climate with cold winters and monsoon summers. Named after J. Lawrence Walkup, NAU's fifth president. The dome design allowed football, basketball, and track to operate regardless of weather.
