📖About Seibert Stadium

Pete Hanna Stadium (formerly Seibert Stadium) has been home to Samford football since 1958, shortly after the university's relocation to Homewood, Alabama. The stadium has undergone continuous upgrades over six decades, including the 1989 Bashinsky Press Tower, the 2009 Cooney Family Field House, and a $65 million renovation currently underway that will transform the north end zone with new connecting walkways.

Origins

The stadium was built in 1958, shortly after Samford relocated to its current Homewood campus. It replaced the previous football facilities and provided the new campus with a dedicated football venue. Originally a modest facility, it has grown alongside the university.

Major Renovations

1961F. Page Seibert donated $206,566 to complete 3,000-seat east-side stands and add field lighting - stadium named in his honor
1989Four-level Bashinsky Press Tower completed with media facilities, reserved seating, and concessions
1994Electronic matrix message board scoreboard added
