📖About Protective Stadium

Protective Stadium is an outdoor, multi-purpose stadium in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, home to the UAB Blazers football program. Opened October 2, 2021, with a capacity of 47,100 and artificial turf, the $175 million facility was designed by Populous and Goodwyn Mills Cawood and built by Brasfield & Gorrie. Owned by the BJCC, it carries Protective Life naming rights under a 15-year, $1 million-per-year deal. It also hosts the Birmingham Bowl, Birmingham Stallions (UFL), Birmingham Legion FC, and served as the 2022 World Games opening ceremony venue.
