Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, originally Memphis Memorial Stadium, has been a fixture of Memphis sports since 1965. The 58,000-seat venue is undergoing a $220M renovation and serves as a memorial to veterans of World War I, World War II, and the Korean War.
Built in 1965 for $3 million as part of the Mid-South Fairgrounds to bring the Liberty Bowl to a permanent home in Memphis. The bowl game had started in Philadelphia but moved due to poor attendance.
West side offers best views and shade. Club level provides premium experience. East side under renovation through 2026.
Fairgrounds lots surround stadium. Tiger Lane tailgating on south side. Arrive 2+ hours early for prime spots.
Visit Beale Street before games. The stadium has hosted Tennessee Oilers, Memphis Showboats, and numerous pro teams. Liberty Bowl game held annually.
