A sprawling outdoor living-history complex with 22 historic structures and approximately 20,000 artifacts recreating 19th- and early 20th-century rural Alabama life, including pioneer cabins, a working gristmill, farm equipment, and Native American archaeology exhibits.

💡 Allow at least 2 hours to walk the grounds. Open Thursday–Saturday 9am–5pm (spring/summer) and 9am–4pm (winter). Closed Thanksgiving week, Christmas, and New Year's weeks. Check the website for Pioneer Days in October.

A restored 1912 Classical Revival former post office in downtown Troy housing seven galleries showcasing local, regional, and national artwork, with free admission.

💡 Open Wednesday–Friday 10am–5pm, Saturday 10am–3pm; closed Sunday and Monday. The two-story main gallery and the building's Classical Revival architecture are highlights. No advance booking needed for self-guided visits; group tours (10+) require one week notice.

A 75-acre public arboretum adjacent to Troy University campus featuring over 300 tree species, nature trails through swamp and stream corridors, and the 4-acre Mullis Pond — a quiet escape ideal for birdwatching and walking.

💡 Open sunrise to sunset seven days a week with no admission fee; park past the yellow entrance gate. The Pocosin Nature Preserve annex is a separate 18-acre site about 6 miles east for additional trail time.

A 45-acre state-managed fishing lake 5 miles south of Troy stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, and catfish, with Alabama's largest public fishing pier, a community archery park, and picnic areas with grills.

💡 A $5 fishing permit is required for ages 12+; a state fishing license is also required for ages 16–64. Boat rentals available on-site. Closed Wednesdays year-round; also closed Mondays (Feb–Jun) and Mondays and Tuesdays (Jul–Nov); closed entirely December 13–January 31. Archery park and trails are accessible without a fishing permit.
