Williams-Brice Stadium holds 77,559 and is one of only two FBS stadiums named solely for a woman. Built in 1934 by the WPA, it's famous for the "2001: A Space Odyssey" entrance and "Sandstorm" after touchdowns—so intense the press box shakes. Sporting News called it "the most exciting pregame entry" in college football.
Built in 1934 by the Works Progress Administration with 17,600 seats. Originally Carolina Stadium, renamed Williams-Brice Stadium on September 8, 1972 to honor benefactor Martha Williams-Brice.
Sections 9-14 and 501-506 offer midfield views. The 2001 Club (east upper) and Traditions Club provide premium amenities. The Cockaboose Railroad behind the east end zone has 22 private cabooses—a unique tailgating/viewing experience.
Fairgrounds lots are most accessible for general public. The Cockabooses (converted railroad cars) are iconic tailgate spots but privately owned. Gamecock Park across Bluff Road is the main fan fest area. Arrive early—Columbia traffic on gameday is intense.
Get to your seat early for the "2001" entrance—Gamecocks run out to "Also sprach Zarathustra" as fireworks explode! "Sandstorm" with LED light show after every TD is legendary. The east stands (original 1934 structure) shake during big moments. Clear bag policy enforced.
